“Bad libraries build collections, good libraries build services, great libraries build
communities”- R. David Lanker.
A library can be regarded as the intellectual hub and repository of knowledge for any educational
institutions. It expands the horizon of knowledge. With the same motto ahead, the department of
education established a departmental library on (date/year required).
Vision
Our vision at the initial stage Was to fulfil the classroom demands /cater to the classroom demands of the students by lending the
reference materials i.e books. With the changing demands of the time, however, it not only aims to
support the students and the research scholars as reference to classroom instructions but also to
unfold the limits of knowledge beyond the classroom needs.
Mission
Through the departmental library, the mission is set to help the students and the research scholars
in preservation and transmission of knowledge. It also envisages to be instrumental in gearing up
the excellence of the students by empowering them with enriching collections and innovative
services.
Service provided
The department provides its library service to all the members of the department on all days from
9.30 am to 5 pm except on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Moreover, it has daily news subscriptions
which can be accessed by anyone holding the departmental library card.
